Anatomy of a painting: Chakramander
This painting started out life as an image for my Daydream Odyssey coloring book project. That project has been restructured and will hopefully be available soon. (side note: the publishing industry is a fickle business.)
I used 2 found images from the internet as references for my salamander, and then started drawing circles in his belly. The circles reminded me of the chakras, and so I added 7 circles to represent the 7 chakras: The root, sacral, solar, heart, throat, 3rd eye, and crown. The rest of the design evolved from there. Below is a slide show of the progression of the work, including reference images. Please feel free to ask any questions regarding my process or art making questions in general.

The painting will be entered into exhibition and then listed for sale on Saatchi Art where you will also be able to order prints. Please feel free to share and connect with me on social media! (Link buttons at bottom of page)
