I’m also thankful for my students who fill my heart when they tell me I’ve helped them learn or even try art for the first time. I love watching your progress, answering your questions and LOVE it when you share your art with me! It just makes me so happy to know that other people are getting that rush of self love and positive energy that happens when you hit that flow state, getting into the rhythm and losing yourself to whatever art form it is that brings you joy.
When you get to that state, do me a favor, ok? Share it with someone else. Teach them what you know - even if you only know a little, I promise you, there’s someone out there who was where you were a year ago. And when you share your knowledge with them, you’re helping them reach a state of joy, too. You’re building their confidence and belief in themselves - and so your joy multiplies. It’s an act of love. And the more of that we can spread around this globe, the better.
When someone purchases art from me, the best part about it is that it means somehow something I made from my head, heart, and hands has made a connection. There’s an exchange of energy.
Not that I’m comparing myself to one of the wonders of the ancient world or anything , but I wonder what the first person to discover the cave paintings at Lascaux felt when they placed their hand over a print that had been there 10,000 years. It’s something that says we are all the same, no matter our differences. We are all Human.
This is why art is important. Not because it’s pretty, or functional, or expensive or to show off. It’s because of connection.
