I use Pages on my mac, and several different fonts to give me ideas. I wasn't happy with any of these.
Then when I went to let the dogs in, I realized how much I like this font on the filthy filthy door mat in the garage. I like how the "O" is a circle. (This is also similar to the Charles Rennie MacIntosh lettering I used in my U2-inspired piece, on my Artwork page.)
And the dogs watch me like I'm crazy. Or like they're gonna get food out of it. Either way, I usually have an audience.
so I sketch out the letters and love how the "A" and "V" fall perfectly into the equilateral triangles. Happy accidents. Oh - and if you're wondering how to make a triangular grid like this, use a 60° angle, lines equidistant apart.
And then the challenge is coloring in all of those little triangles...
